Nagast Entertainment Network Is Opening the Gates: A New Home for Independent Creators, HBCU Talent, and the Voices They Tried to Silence

Listen to me, brother. Listen to me, sister.
For too long, we’ve been begging for a seat at a table that wasn't built for us. We’ve been handing our stories, our rhythm, and our very souls over to corporations that see us as nothing more than a demographic to be mined. They take our culture, polish it for the masses, and then sell it back to us at a premium while we struggle to keep our lights on.
The statistics don’t lie. Less than 0.5% of streaming channels are Black-owned. Think about that. In a world where we drive the trends, create the slang, and dominate the sports world, we own almost none of the digital real estate where those stories are told. We are the architects of the culture, but we’re still paying rent to the landlord.
At Nagast Footwear, we started as a black-owned sneaker company because we knew that if we didn't own the shoes on our feet, we couldn't control the path we walked. But the path is bigger than leather and soles. It’s about the airwaves. It’s about the images that flash across your screen. That’s why Nagast Entertainment Network is officially opening its gates. We aren't just selling black owned sneakers; we are building a fortress for our truth.
The LaVar Ball Blueprint: Owning the Narrative from Day One
We see what they did to the Ball family. They tried to paint LaVar as a "distraction," a "loudmouth," or a "problem." Why? Because he dared to say he didn't need their permission. He understood something fundamental: if you document your own journey, they can’t rewrite your history.
LaVar Ball was out there with a camera when his boys: Lonzo, LiAngelo, and LaMelo: were just kids. He captured the sweat, the drills, the early mornings, and the vision before the world even knew their names. He built Big Baller Media and "Ball in the Family" because he knew that our stories are worth more than a 30-second highlight reel on a network that would drop us the moment we stopped being profitable.
This is an open call to LaVar Ball and the Big Baller Brand family. We want to talk. We want to see that library of early footage, those documentaries, and the behind-the-scenes reality of what it looks like to build a dynasty from the ground up. Nagast Entertainment Network is ready to be the home for that content: the original footage of the Ball brothers that the mainstream media was too blind to value. We want the world to see the blueprint you ran when those kids were young.
A Call to the Unsigned Podcasters and Truth-Tellers

To the podcasters who are out here doing the work without a "major deal": we see you. We know how it goes. You have the sharpest analysis, the most conscious guests, and the most loyal audience, but because you won't compromise your message, the big networks won't touch you. They want "content," but they’re scared of the "truth."
If you are a podcaster driving the culture, if you are speaking on liberation, economics, or the real state of our community, Nagast is your home. We are looking for independent voices to join our FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming TV) channel. We don't want to edit your soul; we want to amplify it.
The same goes for the sports guys. The athletes and commentators who talk "real talk" but don't have a desk at ESPN or Fox Sports. You’ve been silenced or sidelined because you refuse to read their script. Whether it’s game analysis, documentary-style storytelling, or raw interviews, we want your content on our platform. Don't wait for a deal from a master who doesn't want you to speak. Come build with the family.
The HBCU Pipeline: From the Classroom to the Screen
Our vision isn't just about the legends of today; it’s about the titans of tomorrow. We are looking directly at our HBCUs.
We see the partnerships happening: Tubi with the HBCU First Look, Howard with Amazon, Morehouse with Spotify. That’s a start. But we want to go further. We want a direct pipeline where student work in film, recording, and production goes straight to the people.
To the students of film and media at our historic institutions: you are the descendants of storytellers who kept our history alive when it was illegal for us to read and write. We want your documentaries, your short films, and your music videos. Nagast Entertainment Network is setting aside space specifically for HBCU talent. We aren't just looking for interns; we’re looking for partners.
When you’re out there on campus, rocking your red black and green sneakers and holding that camera, know that you have a platform waiting for you. You don't have to wait for Hollywood to "discover" you. We already see you.
Why This Matters: Beyond the 0.5%
Why are we doing this? Why would a black-owned sneaker company spend its energy building a media network?
Because we understand that you cannot have economic freedom without cultural sovereignty. As long as our images are controlled by others, our minds are never truly free. Our archive of over 5,000 DVD titles is proof of our commitment to preserving our history and educating our people. But preservation isn't enough. We have to create.
Every time you buy an african sneaker or one of our Africa sweaters, you are funding this revolution. You are helping us build a network where our children see themselves not as sidekicks, but as heroes. Not as victims, but as victors.
How to Get Involved
The gates are open. We are actively looking for partners, creators, and visionaries who are tired of the status quo.
- LaVar Ball / Big Baller Media: Let’s bring that library home.
- Independent Podcasters: If you have the content and the audience but no deal, let’s talk.
- Unsigned Sports Commentators: Your voice belongs on Nagast.
- HBCU Film & Production Students: Submit your work. We want to show the world what you can do.

The Takeaway
The "gatekeepers" only have power as long as we believe we need their gates. Nagast Entertainment Network is building our own city, our own narrative, and our own future. From the red black and green sneakers on your feet to the content on your screen, we are moving toward total independence.
Join us. The revolution will not only be televised; it will be Black-owned.
